Colin MacIntyre is an award-winning musician, producer, author & playwright, releasing under the name Mull Historical Society
Colin MacIntyre is a multi-award-winning musician, producer, author & playwright. He hails from a family of storytellers on Mull. He has released 8 acclaimed albums to date, most notably under the name Mull Historical Society, achieving 2 UK Top 20 albums & 4 Top 40 singles, since his Gold-selling debut, ‘Loss’. His recent MHS album, ‘Wakelines’, was produced by Brit-Award winner Bernard Butler. His debut novel ‘The Letters of Ivor Punch’ won the 2015 Edinburgh Book Festival First Book Award and he has adapted it for the stage. He has been voted Scotland’s Top Creative Talent at the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards, as well as into the Greatest Scottish Artists of All Time poll, touring worldwide, incl. with The Strokes, Elbow & REM. He has performed on Later With Jools Holland & The Jonathan Ross Show. His memoir, ‘Hometown Tales: The Boy in the Bubble’, and his first book for children, ‘The Humdrum Drum’, were published in 2019.
