Jan Sutch Pickard
Poet and storyteller.
I am a member of the collective Ross of Mull Poets (see separate entry), enjoying creative sessions, workshops and performance in pubs and village halls. We have collaborated on two poetry pamphlets: Poetree and Edges, and a CD ‘Mullings’ of readings.
As a solo performer I can be found reading my work in the Iona Community Bookshop or telling stories in the Chapter House at the Abbey. I am a Directory member of the Scottish Storytelling Forum.
A variety of anthologies include things I have written – poetry, stories and liturgy.
My own works include:
The Gatherings series of Oystercatcher/GilleBrighde poetry pamphlets
and the following titles published by Wild Goose Publications (Glasgow)
Out of Iona
Between high and low water
A pocket full of crumbs
Sing but keep on walking.
Voices out of lockdown
I value opportunities to work alongside and support other creative people and in the local community – although of course at times I wander lonely as a cloud…
