John Clare
Painter, photographer and writer working in a range of media mainly relating to natural history subjects.
John Clare is an ecologist, illustrator, photographer and writer. Much of his artistic work comprises naturalistic depictions of wildlife in pencil, ink and watercolour, and he has written and illustrated over 30 books about the wildlife and history of Mull, Iona and the Treshnish Isles. Recently, he has also been experimenting in other media including digital art.
He originally trained and worked in architecture and graphic design.
Moving to Mull in 2007 after holidaying for many years, John has also worked for the RSPB leading the Mull Eagle Watch visits and as Forest Manager for Tiroran Community Forest.
