Calum Hall Studio
I work with metals, paint, solar plates and film, my work is an exploration of light.
My work is an exploration of light. I use exposures, like photographic transparencies, either in photography, screen printing, solar plates or on treated metals. I use natural sunlight as my main exposure source. My work makes reference to the origin and technological use of semi-precious metals, exploring pop culture, abstract expressionism and our place in the landscape, mainly using industrial or randomised techniques but also using traditional materials.
I studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art, specialising in printmaking with photopolymers. I started my own print and design company in 1997 with the assistance of PSYBT and HIE, projects have ranged from promotional printing to package design.
I have exhibited nationally and my work is in many private collections. I have taught etching and screen printing workshops, and I sell paintings, prints and designs on Etsy.

When you visit, you can expect
A small private studio with work in progress. Usually I have 5-10 canvases on the go and 2-5 copper pieces. Also the studio is a busy and not very tidy place with my little studio helper Sula.
