Iona Gallery & Pottery
Gallery plus studio/workshop showing contemporary and C20th paintings of Iona and pottery which is made on the premises.
The Iona Gallery and Pottery is within an old croft house dating from about 1800. In the Gallery you will be able to view original work by artist, potter, printmaker and owner Gordon Menzies. The Gallery not only showcases Gordon’s work but also works by other artists who paint Iona. Currently we have contemporary paintings by Charles Simpson, Kim Jarvis, Jan Fisher, Sarah Carrington, Gillian Goodheir, the late Philip MacLeod Coupe and the late Tom Shanks. The Gallery also specialises in older paintings of Iona especially George Houston, William Mervyn Glass, Franc P. Martin, Archibald Kay and Mary Morris who were all painting Iona in the early C20th. Many of these contemporary and older paintings of Iona have been made into an excellent series of art cards and greetings cards and annually into a calendar of selected paintings. Many art works of Iona have been made into high quality limited edition prints, the contemporary ones being signed limited edition prints.
